Hi. Welcome to my SAMPLE Book Proofreading and Editing project.
Is your book completed? Is it still a work-in-progress? Do you have doubts about whether it is written to the required standard?

Using my skills as an editor and proofreader, I will analyse a sample of your book, or the first few chapters (up to 5000 words), giving you a critique of its current condition and highlighting any errors.
I will identify and correct:

· Spacing
· Font and sizing
· Capitalisation
· Word choice, Idioms, Dialogue
· Tone, Flow, Clarity of meaning, Tense consistency
You will receive your original MS Word document showing all corrections and comments. You also receive a "clean" copy with all changes included within it. Additionally, you receive a critique highlighting any issues that I find so that you can correct them before continuing with your writing.
If you like the quality of my service, then I can edit your completed book at a later date (see my other projects).

I am a British certified professional copy/line editor and proof-reader, and the author of 6 novels.
Many of these former roles have helped to develop my skills in writing, paying particular attention to detail, and enhancing my editing abilities.
I have put these skills into practice, firstly by writing 3 memoirs, and secondly, by drawing on my police experience by writing 3 crime/fiction novels. As part of the publishing process, I taught myself the skills of editing and proofreading (finding that I had a natural ability in these fields).
Since then, I have trained, and graduated, with the College of Media and Publishing (CMP) and with the Publishing Training Centre (PTC) to formalise my qualifications. I am now trained to the most recent international standards in these skills, and can turn my abilities to any English text in any part of the world (adapting my skills accordingly).
